Welcome to our new Trustee Eilish Brogan

The RNFA is pleased to welcome Eilish Brogan to the Board of Trustees. Eilish brings a unique and valuable perspective that will enhance the strategic direction, growth, and development of the association. She was the standout candidate in the recruitment process and has already made significant contributions.

Current board members John Lavery and Steve Vasey are due to retire in 2025, after completing their maximum nine-year term. To ensure a smooth transition for Eilish onto the board, I am grateful to Steve and John for agreeing to extend their participation as Trustees until June 2025.

Gavin Howe, RNFA Chair of Trustees.

Eilish Brogan, a Leading Hand, joined the Royal Navy in 2018 at the age of 18. She became a member of the HM branch and specialized in Meteorology and Oceanography. A lifelong supporter of Norwich City FC, Eilish has been involved in football since age 8, playing for the Norwich City Centre of Excellence.

Her first assignment was at RNAS Culdrose, where she continued her football involvement, playing for the local women’s representative team, coaching grassroots youth teams, and making her RN senior team debut in 2019. Most recently, her placement at Fleet HM Unit involved deployments on ships such as HMS Queen Elizabeth, HMS Somerset, HMS Portland, and RFA Argus. Eilish currently works at the Warfare Training Group HM Training Unit in HMS Drake.

As a representative player for the RN Women’s Senior team, a serving member of the RN, and an advocate for RN Sport, Eilish aims to bring a fresh perspective to the Board of Trustees. She is committed to contributing to the RNFA's safe, diverse, and inclusive environment for all, while also serving as a voice for young people, players, and coaches.
